Brrrrrr! (ouch!)

Someone remind me what month and season it is please! It’s so cold for April! I remember it being warm this time last year and the kids constantly outside. Yesterday Cody went out into the backyard for a bit, then came back in and got his fleece hat on. I think it’s the first time he’s ever willingly put it on and kept it on for more than 5 seconds.

So here’s a little update on my health. At the end of March I tripped over Kevin and fell hard into the corner of my couch. The result was a nasty injury to my bottom lip. Basically my lip split all the way down inside and about halfway on the outside. It required five stitches. The healing process has been remarkably fast and I’m really impressed as far as that goes. But I still have a nasty bump and it’s still very tender. Scarring appears to be minimal but it’s hard to tell since it’s not completely healed yet. I have to drink using straws still as I can’t handle any pressure on it at all yet. I never realized how often I kissed my kids till I couldn’t!

As if that wasn’t bad enough, earlier the day that this happened I had an ultrasound and found out I had gallstones. I think that’s partly why I tripped to be honest. I was kinda spacey that day thinking about the fact that had gallstones and wondering if that what was causing me the horrible pain I’ve been having on and off since Casey was born. So after talking to my doctor and then a surgeon, we’ve decided to have my gallbladder out. The surgery is scheduled for May 7th. Edit: it’s May 8th, not 7th. 🙂

Other than that, I’ve been great! LOL

  1. OUCH!! Good luck Tracie on the 7th! although from what I understand it is a pretty simple procedure now days. 🙂 I thought I would chek out the page today, since jack sent me the link! It looks good!

  2. I am here if you need anything. I know operations can be scary but I know you will feel much better when its all over. I am glad you lip is healing fast. It must suck not to be able to kiss your hubby too. lol Poor Jack.

  3. Ouch! Hope you’re feeling better now! I had the gall bladder surgery. Recovery is quick and scarring is minimal…everything is removed from your belly button! You’re a strong person and will breeze through it! *hugs*
