…usually are to be ignored. I’m usually pretty good at it. But when it comes to things or subjects that are dear to me, I don’t always succeed at the ignoring. I’m failing at it right now by writing this.
My kids are awesome kids. I get compliments about their behavior and their manners all the time. I do my best to raise them to be confident and respectful individuals. I appreciate the compliments when I get them but I do not brag about them or try to “one up” anyone. However, if they accomplish something new to them, I may share my excitement about what they accomplished. Especially if it’s something adorable or cute. I don’t know any parents who care about their kids who wouldn’t do the same.
So, I read something today that was a blatant attempt at goading me. I asked for a second opinion and all who read it had the EXACT reaction I did and knew exactly what it was about. While I’m glad I wasn’t off the mark on my reaction, I actually have to say I feel sorry for this person. It’s well known they have massive self esteem issues, and it’s well known that this person likes to stir up trouble between “friends” while flying a halo. But it’s flat out pathetic to use their CHILD to beef up their own esteem… especially when it was a blatant attempt to “one up” my child. What about my CHILD’s self esteem? Think about that? Especially since the sites in question are both family sites that all the children involved read.
So, to you-know-who, I won’t be back to your site. And neither will my children.
