Saw this on a few sites and thought it was a good idea. (And yeah I know I’m late — but aren’t I always?)
January
Played “catch-up” on our bills and stayed home a lot. Jack worked a lot.
February
Pretty much the same as February, cept I (Tracie) started having a LOT more trouble (than normal) with stomach pain. Jack worked a lot. I turned 30-something. Again.
March
Found out my gallbladder was messed up. Tripped and fell and busted my lip in half. Got really nasty sick. All at the same time. Jack worked a lot (see a pattern here?) and he spent a lot of time taking care of me and the kids. Cody turned 2.
April
As if permanetly scarring my lip, getting really nasty sick, and finding out that all my stomach pain was from my gallbladder, I got an infection in my tooth and had to have it pulled. There was a teeny tiny little Earthquake 4/24. Got new neighbors that we couldn’t stand — but that turned out to be a good thing. Jack again worked a lot and spent time taking care of me and the kids. (What a guy!)
May
Had surgery to have my my gallbladder removed. You could safely say that even though I remember what happened over the last three months, much of that time was spent in some sort of painful blur. Was definitely the worst time I’ve gone through pain-wise. (*knock on wood*) Cody got his first hair cut. Jack and I made the decision to get out of our crappy apartment, buy a house and started looking.
June
Found the house of our dreams. Randy came to live with us. Lots of stress over getting this house. LOTS. My adorable niece Kyrah was born. Moved into our new home. (Yep, found it, bought it, and moved in before the end of the month. We were just a *wee* bit busy in June.) Katherine turned 12.
July
Unpacked and settled into our new home. Even managed to have a 4th of July party that was a big success. Jack developed a weed obsession and soon we couldn’t go anywhere without him pulling weeds no matter where he found them. (Other people’s houses, restaurants, etc…) Casey turned 5. I rode public transportation for the first time in years and years. Jack ate a soap-filled blueberry muffin that Cody created and still (to this day) is paranoid about eating blueberry muffins.
August
Jack and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary and our ninth year together. I got sick on our weekend getaway. (I have the worst luck..) I started my first job in over 10 years, from home. Cody went for a “walk” all by himself and managed to get 1.5 blocks away from home on his own.
September
The kids went back to school. Casey started Kindergarten. Started my own little space in the garage. Attempted to clean out the garage. (That’s worth noting.. no really.) Timmy came to live with us. Jack turned 30-something again too.
October
Dealt with really hot and abnormal weather, and went from that to ice cold almost overnight. I don’t remember much of October. I don’t know why. I think I worked a lot.
November
Rearranged my living room, stressed about hosting Thanksgiving here, cleaned a lot, stressed about Thanksgiving, did lots of laundry, stressed. Had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Shopped. Got a Christmas Tree and put up lights. I think Jack avoided me a lot this month.
I don’t remember what he did. I’m sure it was a lot. I got a second work-at-home job that I like a lot. Kayla turned 14. Little Jack turned 9.
December
Kevin turned 12. Melissa turned 8. Shopped. Stressed about hosting Christmas. Had a blast. Both of us worked a lot.
What a rollercoaster year. Sickness, injuries, blessings, and good fortune, all wrapped up in one year. Overall I wouldn’t trade anything that happened in 2003 for the world. I’m happy with the year we had and look forward to the new one!

Yep! That was pretty much our year in a nutshell! Big thanks to Ralph and Denise for being there for us so many times throughout the year too!
Love you guys.
